The terms that govern use of our website and services
Effective date: July 6, 2026
By using kindness-kits.org (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. We may revise these terms as our programs evolve; the effective date above reflects the latest version, and continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
Kindness Kits is a Los Angeles-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 33-1558803) that redirects surplus makeup, hygiene, and personal-care products to people facing housing insecurity and economic hardship across Southern California. Information on the Site describes our programs generally and is not professional, legal, or tax advice.
The content of this Site — text, illustrations, photographs, logos, and design — is the property of Kindness Kits or its partners. You may view the Site and share links to it for personal, noncommercial purposes. You may not copy, republish, or redistribute Site content, or use our name or logo, without our written permission.
When using the Site, you agree not to:
Monetary donations are processed by Pledge (pledge.to), an independent donation platform. Your payment details go directly to Pledge — Kindness Kits never receives or stores your card information — and Pledge’s own terms and privacy policy apply to the payment itself. Donations are generally tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law; consult your tax advisor about your situation. For questions about a donation or a receipt, email jaipal@kindness-kits.org.
Donated products must be new, unopened, and unexpired. We reserve the right to decline, redirect, or responsibly dispose of donations that do not meet our safety or mission standards. Ownership of donated items transfers to Kindness Kits on delivery, and we are unable to return donated items.
Volunteer participation is coordinated through our signup forms. Volunteers agree to the Kindness Kits volunteer policy at signup, and receive shift and logistics communications according to the consent they give on the form — see our Privacy Policy for how that consent works. We may decline or end a volunteer relationship where safety or mission standards require it.
Parts of the Site are provided by third parties: forms are hosted by Tally, monetary donations are processed by Pledge, and the messages you opt into are delivered through our messaging provider. Links to social platforms such as Instagram and LinkedIn lead to services governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services.
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of inaccuracies.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kindness Kits and its directors, officers, employees, and volunteers are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
